Welcome to the Association of Former New York State Troopers, Inc. web page.
The AFNYST is comprised of almost 2,000 members, who, as the name suggests, are former New York State Troopers.  The Association was founded in 1951 and is the only non government organization in New York that can use the word "Troopers" in their name.

This site is for AFNYST members only.  Non members will not be approved.  To access: Click on the "Join" tab in the upper right corner.  You will be asked to furnish some information.  This will all be kept within the association.

The first box is "User Name". Please - Enter your Last Name, space, then First Name.

User name is case sensitive - remember how you entered it.

Repeat the information in the following boxes asking for your name.  This helps in identifying you as a member of good standing of a AFNYST Chapter.  No coma is necessary. If you generally use "Charlie" instead of "Charles", that's OK.  Two initials also work.  The idea is to be able to identify you and your affiliation with a chapter.  Make up your own password - AND remember it.  When it is confirmed that you are a member in good standing you will be approved and sent an email advising of same.

To read the messages in the "Forum", click on the word "Forum", then click on "General Information".  A list very similiar to an email list will appear. Click on any title to read it.

The Association of Former New York State  Troopers  (AFNYST)  consists of fourteen chapters which represent geographical areas of New York State.  There are no residential requirements.  Generally one joins a chapter located within the area where he/she formerly worked. It's really a matter of socializing with old friends. In fact, the whole idea is to continue the camaraderie we enjoyed during the years "on the job". Joining requires completing an application, having a sponsor sign for you and being of good moral character.  The individual chapter votes on the applicant.

This space will be devoted to Chapter name/local/and contact information.  A member from each Chapter will be asked to be the email gateway for requests for membership
