Association of Former New York State Troopers, Inc.

Welcome to the Association of Former New York State Troopers, Inc.
The Association of Former New York State Troopers was formed in 1951 for the purpose of providing former Troopers with a fraternal organization designed to represent their needs, including working with the PBA and NYSPIA in an effort to improve retirement benefits. The AFNYST is comprised of almost 2000 members and is the only non government organization in New York that can use the word “Troopers” in their name.
There are 14 regional chapters which hold regular meetings, where members get together and continue the camaraderie they enjoyed when they were “On the Job”.
A "State Board" offers administrative guidance to the Chapters which have their own officers and by-laws. The officers of the State Board are: Michael Wells - President, Michael Doney - Vice President, Chad Juenker, Secretary and John Odell, Treasurer. Meetings are held four time annually; March, June, September and November.

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — A new digital billboard on I787 in Albany is calling out Gov. Kathy Hochul for vetoing a bill aimed at supporting the mental health of state troopers. The billboard is part of a campaign by the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (NYSTPBA), urging the governor to "keep her promise" to protect the mental health of troopers.
